Short Bio:
Kirk is Of Counsel at Phil IP Law Inc. and has a broad range of business and legal experience. He handles both litigation and transactional matters for the firm, including complex intellectual property and commercial matters.
Kirk’s practice focuses on domestic and international trademark, copyright, and patent prosecution and counseling. Prior to becoming a licensed attorney in the U.S., Kirk worked at a number of international companies focusing on business and brand development. Kirk applies this experience to counseling his clients in the technology, consumer products and entertainment fields in connection with the management of trademark and copyright portfolios, clearance and registration of trademarks, enforcement and defense of trademark and copyright rights, and branding. Kirk also applies his background in engineering to his patent practice and advises clients in a wide range of technological fields regarding patent prosecution, enforcement, and portfolio strategy. Kirk also advises clients in connection with contract negotiations, drafting, and business disputes.
Educational Experience:
Kirk earned his Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. During his time at USC, Kirk also obtained a certificate in Technology and Entrepreneurship Law. Kirk earned his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Saint Petersburg Institute of International Economic Relations, Economics and Law. He also has a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
Kirk is licensed to practice law in the state of California and is also licensed as a Patent Practitioner before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
